Document management for ACT!

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 1996--If you are using ACT! to manage contacts, and have a lot of documents to interact with, then GemSoft Corporation has a new product for you called Emerald for ACT!.

Linked with your ACT! contacts it opens the door up to all kinds of documents which you can create, use and manage in an organized way.

Just click on the folder in the ACT! icon bar, and Emerald displays the current contact's drawer and folder. A list of that contact's files appear in an opened folder. They can be ACT! documents, scanned images or files generated from any desktop application. If your customer's correspondence happens to be in Microsoft Word, for example, click to open it. You can change the letter, create an invoice, or cross-reference to a spread sheet stored in another folder. Letters created in ACT! can be directly saved into Emerald's contact folder. To FAX, drag a document into the FAX icon and the FAX program opens up with the contact's name and FAX number already in position.

To keep things in your work group from getting out of hand, Emerald has version control, security control, cross referencing and activity tracking. Version control lets a group interact with a document while maintaining its integrity. For security, you can make private or shared drawers, folders and documents. And, if you are searching for a file or content within a file, you can find it by using Emerald's quick-search functions.

Consultants see the new product solving a common concern of users. In a recent interview, one ACT! Certified Consultant Peter Saloman from THG Software & Consultants stated that, "Multi-seated environments benefit the most.
