Document Systems, Inc. Upgrades DocMagic Products; New Enhancements for Both Windows and Online Versions of the Popular Software.

CARSON, Calif. -- Document Systems, Inc. (DSI), a leading developer of mortgage technology for compliant loan document preparation and customer contact management, today added new features and functionality to two versions of its popular document preparation software, DocMagic. DSI released version 3.0 of DocMagic Online and version 8.0 of DocMagic for Windows.

"DocMagic now includes the functionality that lenders will demand soon but deserve now," said DSI president and CEO Don Iannitti. "Whether a lender uses our simple and efficient Windows software or our newer Online tool, these new versions will give them more power and control at the same time our built-in compliance makes them safer than ever before."

Both versions now give lenders easier access to DSI's new eDisclosure offering, an automated service that allows lenders to deliver a predisclosure document package that consists of a Good Faith Estimate, Truth-In-Lending disclosure, state-specific disclosures and other required documents through a secure Web site.

The eDisclosure component directs borrowers to the site via an e-mail message sent out automatically by the company's DocMagic software. The borrower is then prompted to provide his or her consent to receive the disclosure documents electronically. The process is in full compliance with federal E-SIGN legislation and Regulation Z, including the Federal Reserve Board's Official Staff Commentary relating to electronic disclosures. The offering saves lenders significant time and money, but still alerts them in ample time if the disclosures are not reviewed.

Since 1988, DocMagic has been setting the standard for mortgage document preparation software that is fast to load and easy to use. The new enhancements carry on that tradition. Version 8.0 includes a host of new features, including:

--Multiple Worksheet Support makes it possible to have multiple accounts working on multiple worksheets across the enterprise simultaneously. More than one copy of DocMagic can be running at the same time.

--MISMO Import. If the client's LOS software can create a MISMO (Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization) file, DocMagic can import it to create a fully populated worksheet.

--Ellie Mae ePass integration. Improved integration with Encompass, Genesis and Contour loan origination software allows users to draw docs directly from the loan file in the LOS and reduce data entry and associated errors.

In addition, Version 8.0 includes a number of new features that will make the software even easier to use, including new desktop theme support, the ability to edit multiple document files simultaneously, and new look and feel enhancements.

"These tools allow lenders to edge customers closer to the electronic frontier," Iannitti said. "But they don't make the software more difficult to use. In fact, DocMagic is even easier to use than before. It just has more power."

DSI's online document preparation tool is a favorite because of its ability to create error free custom loan documents anywhere there is an Internet connection. New performance enhancements in version 3.0 will make this option even more attractive to Web-based users.

DocMagic Online 3.0 uses the new J2SE 5 Platform (1.5 JRE) to run the DocMagic Online applet. This new Java Runtime Environment offers greater stability, improved performance and a reduction in start up time by as much as 30 percent. As always, users enjoy automatic updates, which take only seconds to load.

Other important new features in version 3.0 include:

--Numerous cross-reference databases have been added for quicker data entry and repetitive data storage.

--New High-Cost Analysis screens for Indiana and Wisconsin have been added.

--Expanded Service Provider database.
