Alliance enables multiple counties in nine states to

digitally record electronic mortgage documents

Document Systems, Inc. (DSI), a developer of software, tools and Web-based systems for the production of compliant loan document packages; Safedocs, a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based, document delivery and end-to-end Web-based closing and post-closing solution utilizing biometric signatures and digital notary seals; and AtPac, a Grass Valley, Calif.-based provider of county recording software, today announced at the 2004 Mortgage Bankers Association's National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference and Expo, the completion of a custom interface that enables mortgage documents to be digitally recorded in 15 counties in nine states with efforts to have 120 counties subscribed by the end of 2004 in the nine states. This interface provides an end-to-end e-solution for all providers in the selected county recording process.

The three-way alliance between the Safedocs System(TM) (SDS), AtPac's e-recording product, and DSI's DocMagic(R) creates a compliant, secure solution that enables DSI's existing clients to seamlessly order, deliver, record and store DocMagic's digital loan documents. Safedocs and DSI's seamless interface reduces lender's cost by making it a one-click process to deliver and execute digital loan documents. This single intuitive secure browser-based environment allows for biometric signings, notarization and recording of loan documents. DSI, Safedocs and AtPac have created the only truly local, state and federally compliant document solution that incorporates the industry's best biometric authentication technology used to execute millions of legal documents.

DocMagic, a closing loan document production software system that provides an efficient system for producing and delivering customized loan documents, creates the digital, compliant lending documents that interface directly with the SDS, a digital delivery/loan closing solution. Lenders using the SDS digital solution can retrieve compliant documents directly from DocMagic. SDS then executes the loan documents in a secure workflow solution with biometric signatures and digital notaries, as well as wraps and seals the documents to protect them from tampering. Safedoc's secure delivery system works with AtPac's e-recording product, its software for the recording industry, to electronically sign and secure documents for digitally receiving, processing and recording by a county recorder.
