Document Sciences purchases Data Retrieval; includes ownership of document management technology and customer base.

:DOCX), a global leader in document automation solutions, Monday announced the purchase of substantially all of the assets of Data Retrieval Corp. from West Group of Eagan, Minn.

Included in the purchase were exclusive ownership of the TextComply, TextDBMS, TextGen, TextMigrate and TextBook software products and the installed base of commercial accounts.

Document Sciences will retain Data Retrieval employees responsible for the development, product support and customer service of such software products. In addition, Document Sciences will continue to provide training and consulting support for Data Retrieval customers.

The acquisition culminates a 3-year relationship in which Data Retrieval provided key software components to Document Science's Autograph autograph
