What a pleasure to see The Advocate interviewing the amazingly talented Laura Innes Laura Elizabeth Innes (b. August 16 1959, Pontiac, Michigan) is an American actress and director.

Laura Innes was introduced to professional theater by her father, who frequently took the family to the Stratford Festival of Canada in Stratford, Ontario.

I'm glad you interviewed Innes, but I wonder why it comes fully one year after ER introduced Dr. Weaver's love interest. If I weren't accustomed to The Advocate's predominant focus on gay men and their interests and accomplishments (and straight men who play gay men and straight women who entertain gay men), I would have been surprised that the magazine was ignoring this chapter in TV history and its importance to lesbians and bisexual women. I suspect if Noah Wyle, Goran Visnjic, or any other member of ER's male supporting cast were struggling with coming out after falling in love with a gorgeous male psychiatrist on staff, The Advocate would have done a cover story months ago.
