* Make sure you see a doctor who treats runners regularly if your appointment is for a running-related concern such as an injury.

* Write it down. You think you 11 know just what to say until you're sitting there wearing a little paper smock. Everything becomes crystal clear again when you're heading home. Prior to your office visit, write down symptoms, a timeline, diet changes, past injuries and illnesses, workout habits and changes. Can you correlate your symptoms with any specific activity, meal, or time of day? You never know what will be significant to your diagnosis.

* Avoid vague complaints. Athletic people often feel some degree of embarrassment that anything has gone wrong. Some might actually try to under-emphasize problems. Be specific and thorough.

* Don't second-guess your doctor. You may be sure you have plantar fasciitis plantar fasciitis

* Tell all. Your doctor's office is no place for discretion. Full disclosure is essential. You may think your medication for acne acne, common inflammatory disease of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands characterized by blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, nodules and, in the more severe forms, by cysts and scarring.
