Dmg World Media purchases AD: Tech trade exhibitions.dmg World Media (London) has acquired the AD:Tech trade exhibitions from JD Events (Trumbull, CT). No terms were given. JD Events was represented by The Jordan, Edmiston Group (New York). Focusing exclusively on interactive marketing, the AD:Tech franchise is a series of conferences and exhibitions held in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, with new shows to be launched in London and Shanghai in 2005. dmg is establishing Ad:tech Expositions LLC (San Francisco, CA) to operate the conferences and shows. JD Events purchased the franchise from Imark Communications in 1998. The sale comes one month after the Direct Marketing Association closed its competing "net.marketing" conference/exhibition. JD Events will continue to operate its "ShowBiz Expo" trade show and will enter the healthcare exposition market through acquisition, company ceo Joel Davis said. "Our whole business is to launch or acquire and build shows, and when they get to a point where they're outgrowing our ability to manage them, then we'll look for good, healthy homes where they can prosper." dmg World Media produces over 300 trade exhibitions and conferences and publishes 65 related magazines, newspapers, directories and reports. |
