Any member of the crustacean suborder Euphausiacea, comprising shrimplike animals that live in the open sea. The name also refers to the genus Euphausia within the suborder and sometimes to a single species, E. superba.
. But do you know how deep these birds can dive? The emperor penguin actually holds the world's record for the deepest dive by a non-flying bird. The data table (below, left) lists the penguin's record. It also shows the maximum diving depths of other animals. First, calculate to convert the diving records from feet into meters (Hint: 1 foot = 0.305 meters). Be sure to round up to the nearest whole number. Then, use your calculated metric measurements to complete the bar graph (below, right).
