The new wireless email service will leverage on Hongkong Post's Mobile e-Cert digital certificates, developed by Diversinet, to ensure secure remote access to the corporate email system. Consumer users will also have access to this seamless, fully integrated secured email service See Internet e-mail service.  to ensure their confidence that email from personal accounts is exchanged securely. The new service will be available to users of Palm(R) handhelds or Windows Mobile(TM) based devices.

This service is an extension of a strong relationship between Diversinet and Hongkong Post, and will provide a new application for use with Hongkong Post Mobile e-Cert digital certificates. In making corporate information accessible to mobile employees, companies can rely on the strong security provided by Mobile e-Cert to ensure the confidentiality of business information. Enterprises depend heavily on email as a prime communications tool, and given Hong Kong's penetration rate of more than 90% for mobile services, the availability of a solution that securely delivers email to mobile users will meet a significant demand from the Hong Kong market.
