Diversified Investment Strategies: Update.

VANCOUVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1997--Diversified Investme(Alberta Stock Exchange:DIA) The following is an update from Diversified Investment Strategies Inc. and its subsidiaries:

Recently, our director, Mr. Gunter Steffensen's responsibilities were expanded! His new position with Gem is V.P. of Sales and Marketing for Agri-LITE(TM); our soilless hydroponic growing medium. As we have reported previously, the growers using Agri-LITE(TM) are very pleased with the results achieved. They have noted a better air to water ratio, greater root development and excellent yields. One international consultant has called it "fantastic" and expressed surprise at a consistent production of 17 cucumbers per square meter within 6 weeks of planting.

A major concern in using other growing media is disposal after the grower is finished with it! Expended Agri-LITE(TM) has now been reapplied to other industrial applications, which demonstrate its recyclability thus eliminating the need for landfilling.

In October, Mr. Steffensen flew to Arizona, where he was invited to meet with a number of growers and had the opportunity to tour a state of the art greenhouse operation, covering 47 acres and growing exclusively tomatoes. He met with Consultants from England, Holland and Arizona. A keen interest in Agri-LITE(TM) was also expressed by Dr. Merle Jensen, from the College of Agriculture at the University of Arizona. Because of their excitement with the product and at their suggestion, Mr. Steffensen is presently attending The International Horticulture Trade Fair in Holland. This is the largest show of its kind in the world today and we are anticipating that contacts made there will launch Agri-LITE(TM) onto the world scene and will assist in marketing to the multi-billion-dollar hydroponics industry.

While in Europe, he will also meet with Biokronix Inc. new CEO, regarding the layout of their Zorbolite manufacturing plant.
