Effective January 1, 2003, Transport Canada will begin enforcing new regulations regarding "small means of containment" for dangerous goods, including truck-mounted scrubbers. All truck-mounted H2S scrubbers will have to meet the specifications for a "United Nations ("U.N.") standardized means of containment" if filled with ammonia or any other corrosive product regulated by the TDG Act and Regulations. One item of specific concern is the ability of the truck-mounted scrubbers to meet the crash test, a component of the UN specifications.
