Diverse Artist Lineup Takes the Stage at Next Month's Indy Jazz Fest Presented by Kroger.


Latin, Japanese and African Inspired Artists Join Headliners Al Green, Chick Corea, Bela Fleck and McCoy Tyner

INDIANAPOLIS -- Artists from around the world inspired by a wide variety of origins and genres will play in Military Park, downtown Indianapolis on June 15-17 at the 2007 Indy Jazz Fest The Indy Jazz Fest in Indianapolis, Indiana, first took place from June 17-20, 1999. It was created by a consortium of Downtown hospitality, civic and business interests as a way to spotlight Indianapolis' jazz heritage through an annual event.  presented by Kroger.

Tickets are now available at any Kroger Store in Indiana for a discounted price. Single day tickets are $20 at Kroger Stores, three-day passes are $50. Telephone and online purchases can be made for $25 for a single day or $55 for the three-day pass. For the first time, the American Pianists Association is also offering a premium-reserved center-stage seat good for one day of the Festival at $60. The artists scheduled to play Friday at the 2007 Indy Jazz Fest presented by Kroger include Monika Herzig and Friends, Hiromi's Sonicbloom, Regina Carter Quintet, Sherrie Maricle and the DIVA Jazz Orchestra with Nneena Freelon and Rachel Price. These groups of women serve to celebrate the designated Women in Jazz Women in Jazz is a lecture and concert presented by jazz singer and composer Joan Cartwright, that chronicles the lives of women who wrote and performed jazz music, including Lil Hardin Armstrong, Mary Lou Williams, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Marian McPartland, Carmen  evening.
