District sets plan's goals for diversity.

While nearly 20 percent of Springfield's students are minorities, only 6.8 percent of employees are.

The board met in a work session Monday with members of the Diversity Committee to discuss details of the plan and to clear up whatever questions or misgivings board members had about the plan.

Most of those were resolved, and the board is expected to approve the plan at its Oct. 25 meeting.
