District golf tourneys tee off this morning.

Byline: The Register-Guard

The Midwestern League and Sky-Em League district golf tournaments begin this morning.

The Midwestern and Sky-Em boys are at Tokatee Golf Club today and Tuesday. The Midwestern girls are at McKenzie River Golf Course today and Trysting Tree Golf Club on Tuesday, and the Sky-Em girls are at Middlefield Golf Course both days.

Sheldon's boys are the favorites to win their third straight district title after winning all but one tournament they entered this season. The Irish finished four strokes back of three-time defending state champion Tualatin on Thursday, but defeated the Timberwolves earlier this season.

Defending district champion Chris Polski leads the Irish along with Jack Dukeminier, Justin Ahrens, Philip Bagdad and Trevor Moffitt.

Sheldon's girls also seek a third straight title. Defending champion Kendra Little leads the Irish.

Siuslaw looks to keep its Sky-Em boys title, with defending champion Jesse Schutte leading the way.

Marist is the defending girls champion.
