Distinguished Cardiologist to Head Heart Center at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center.

ROCHESTER, Mich., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Crittenton Hospital Medical Center has named Samer Y. Kazziha, MD, FACP, FACC, FSCAI, FCCP, FSVMB, Executive Medical Director for Cardiovascular Services. Dr. Kazziha most recently served as Medical Director for Cardiovascular Services at the Mat Gaberty Heart Center at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center.

In his newly-created position at Crittenton, Dr. Kazziha will be responsible for overseeing the growth, strategic development, and day-to-day activities of the cardiovascular services at Crittenton. In addition to expanding the scope of services offered by the service line, Dr. Kazziha will also initiate a clinical research program.

Dr. Kazziha is regionally recognized for his excellence in both clinical and administrative roles, and he has developed cardiovascular programs at several hospitals. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, the American Board of Interventional Cardiology and the American Board of Endovascular Medicine. He is a frequent symposium speaker and is active in many aspects of cardiovascular clinical research.

Dr. Kazziha is the recipient of several awards, including the American Heartsaver Day Award from the American Heart Association, the National Research Service Award in Cardiovascular Epidemiology from the National Institute of Health, the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association among many others.

He is widely published and is a member of many professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, The Society for Vascular Medicine, the American Society of Echocardiography and others.
