It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM). , automotive monitor, video camera and digital still camera markets driven by significant shifts in supplier rankings in Q2'02.

Samsung SDI (1) (Serial Digital Interface) A physical interface widely used for transmitting digital video in various formats. For electrical transmission, it uses a high grade of coaxial cable and a single BNC connector with Teflon insulation.  replaced Epson as the leader in mobile phone displays, Epson replaced Picvue as the leader in PDA displays, TMDisplay (the merger of Toshiba's and Matsushita's display operations) surpassed Sharp as the leader in automotive monitors, and Sony replaced Casio as the leader in the digital still camera display market.

There were also changes in leadership in display procurement The fancy word for "purchasing." In the automotive monitor market, Panasonic was replaced by Fujitusu-TEN as the #1 OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  in Q2'02.  Fujifilm as the #1 digital still camera brand in Q2'02 with Fujifilm dropping to #4 behind Olympus and Canon. Nokia remained the #1 mobile phone maker in Q2'02, with Motorola and Samsung holding the #2 and #3 positions. In the PDA segment, Palm held on to the #1 position despite a decrease in Q2'02, and the combination of HP and Compaq resulted in a 16.9% share versus a combined 15.4% in Q1'02. Sony remained the top video camera brand.

Display shipments in all small/medium markets rose by 20.3% Y/Y to 114.4 million units in Q2'02. Correspondingly, revenues increased by 15.1% Y/Y in Q2'02 to $1.4 billion. Table 1 (http://www.displaysearch.com/press/2002/091102.htm#table) shows small/medium display units and revenues for Q2'02 as well as Y/Y growth figures. As indicated, the PDA and digital still camera markets experienced the fastest Y/Y unit growth at over 40% with display revenues up 46% for PDAs and 17% for digital still cameras. DisplaySearch forecasts that growth will continue through the remainder of the year with total units up 22% and 8% Y/Y in Q3'02 and Q4'02, respectively. Revenues are expected to grow even faster in the remainder of the year up 32% and 38% Y/Y in Q3'02 and Q4'02, respectively. The anticipated growth is a function of the recovery in the mobile phone market and a shift from monochrome Also called "mono." Refers to display screens that use one foreground and one background color; for example, black on white, white on black or green on black. The first terminals connected to mainframes and minicomputers were monochrome, and monochrome screens were widely used on early  to color displays. ASPs, which are provided in DisplaySearch's companion Quarterly Small/Medium LCD Pricing Report and referenced in the shipment report, were down in all application categories. However, the weighted average prices were up due to the shift in size and technology.
