Display Network Venture Gets Veteran Industry CEO; Hamid Farzaneh to Direct Newnham Team, Bringing Flexible Multiple Display Connectivity to the Mass Computer Market.

PALO ALTO, Calif. & CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom -- Display networking company Newnham today announced the appointment of Hamid Farzaneh as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, a key step in the company's plans to commercialize its broadly applicable virtual graphics card technology. Farzaneh brings extensive digital display industry experience to Newnham as well as proven expertise in guiding high-growth technology start-ups.

Farzaneh joins Newnham at a time when the company is looking to accelerate market penetration, partner with leading PC and display companies, and establish its network in, video out (NIVO) virtual graphics card technology as the de facto standard for enhanced PC display connectivity. In April, the company debuted its first product, USB NIVO, a virtual graphics card that enables computers to connect to multiple monitors via USB 2.0.

Prior to joining Newnham, Farzaneh served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development for San Jose, Calif.-based Silicon Optix Inc. Before that, he co-founded Motion Sense, a MEMS controller startup in the Bay Area, and also served as executive vice president and COO of Genesis Microchip, where his leadership helped transform the company from an engineering-driven, high-cost, niche-market enterprise into a dominant chip supplier for the desktop and home digital display market, resulting in a successful IPO.

Earlier in his career, Farzaneh was the vice president of marketing and sales at ASAT, and also held marketing and business development positions with National Semiconductor Corp. He earned his Masters of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Institut National des Sciences Appliquees in Lyon, France, and his MBA from Golden State University in San Francisco.

Farzaneh will be based in Newnham's recently opened Palo Alto, Calif., office. He takes over the CEO job from Michael Ledzion, who remains as the company's Executive Vice President of Business Operations. Ledzion will manage the Cambridge office and oversee the expansion of the local engineering team.
