Disney donates to boys and girls club.

Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. has donated $5,000 to each of the 44 Boys and Girls

Clubs in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The $250,000 donation, which also includes 50 free tickets to Disneyland Resort for each group, will benefit 220,000 young people in Southern California.

"Organizations like The Walt Disney Co. make a huge difference, bettering our community by supporting our clubs through financial contributions that we can use to provide the best possible programs for our young people," said Gary Thomas, chairman of the West Valley Boys and Girls Club, which has about 1,500 members.

Disney has been involved with Boys and Girls Club for well over 50 years; Walt Disney was an honorary member of the group's board of directors.
