To support the release of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" CD-ROM, Disney Interactive and ABC will conduct cross-promotions between the game and the television show including national television exposure and targeted consumer advertising. Through this alliance with ABC, millions of fans across the country will be introduced to the CD-ROM when the program returns to television in November.

To further support the release of this unprecedented TV game show sensation on CD-ROM, retail stores will showcase point-of-purchase pre-pack and pallet displays featuring a life-size Philbin.

Game Overview

Video, audio and interactivity bring "virtual Regis" to life. The CD-ROM utilizes audio and video of Philbin, including instructions on how to play the game, questions, right/wrong answers, phone-in banter, and of course, "... is that your FINAL answer?" Through a winning combination of clever writing, design and high production values Production values is a media term for "production cost." It refers to the professional look, or "polish," of a production. Factors that affect perceived production value may include video and audio quality, lighting, number of errors, and amount and quality of special effects. , a virtual Philbin comes alive to host the game right in players' homes.

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" CD-ROM can accommodate one or more players. During the "Fastest Finger" round, up to 26 players can vie for the "hot seat" and the chance to win 1 million virtual dollars.

Game Features

Available for users of all ages, the CD-ROM captures the spirit of the game show, beginning with the "Fastest Finger" round. Four items are displayed out of sequence on the screen. The first contestant to put these items in the right order in the shortest time advances to the "hot seat." The stakes are high with the chance to win 1 million cyber dollars. Just like the television program, participants must answer 15 progressively challenging questions correctly.

Also as on TV, players can rely on three different "Lifelines" for assistance: "Ask the Audience," "Phone A Friend" and "50/50." Instead of polling a live studio audience for "Ask the Audience," the CD-ROM uses an Internet poll conducted prior to the release of the game. When "Phone A Friend" is selected, thhoices.
