Disney's Epcot to get plastics showcase.


The Society of the Plastics Industry Founded in 1937, The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. is the trade association representing one of the largest manufacturing industries in the United States. SPI's members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment  in Washington, D.C., announced plans to open a "Fantastic Plastics Works" exhibit at Epcot in Walt Disney World Noun 1. Orlando - a city in central Florida; site of Walt Disney World
 Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Scheduled to open this summer, the 5000-sq-ft exhibit will showcase the scope of the plastics industry, from design to manufacturing. The exhibit is intended to improve the public's appreciation of this industry and to encourage youngsters to consider careers in plastics.

The exhibit is anchored by SPI (1) (Stateful Packet Inspection) See stateful inspection.

(2) (Service Provider Interface) The programming interface for developing Windows drivers under WOSA.
 members DuPont and GE Advanced Materials and supported by contributions from those companies and Ampacet, Bekum America, Bemis Manufacturing Co., Coeur Inc., The Conair Group, Daikin America, Demag Plastics Group, ISO (1) See ISO speed.

(2) (International Organization for Standardization, Geneva, Switzerland, www.iso.ch) An organization that sets international standards, founded in 1946. The U.S. member body is ANSI.

SPI welcomes suggestions for exhibits of plastics applications that will "wow" the public.
