Disney's Doug Makes Its Toon Disney Premiere in Fall 2001.

Toon Disney, Disney's 24-hour all-animation network, has acquired the hit animated series "Disney's Doug."

The series will make its Toon Disney premiere in fall 2001, following its successful run as part of ABC's "Disney's One Saturday Morning" programming block.

A long-time favorite among kids, parents and critics, "Disney's Doug" follows the trials and tribulations of average kid Doug Funnie and his friends as they face the ups and downs ups and downs

The show has been hailed for its ability to reinforce positive attitudes about the importance of friendship and family, and for bolstering self-esteem in young people. The program garnered a 1991 ASIFA ASIFA l'Association Internationale du Film d'Animation (International Animated Film Association)  for Best Direction, a 1993 Ollie, 1993 and 1994 Parents' Choice Awards, and a 1995 Kids' Choice Award.

"Disney's Doug" has been a three-time CableACE nominee and a two-time Emmy(R) Award nominee, and has been nominated for the prestigious Prix Jeunesse International Award overseas. In 1998, the series received a Prism Commendation, and the show was nominated for a 1999 Emmy(R) Award for Outstanding Children's Animated Program. The series received prestigious status on the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S.  Honor Roll of Children's Programming in 1999.

"Disney's Doug" is a production of Jumbo Pictures Inc. in association with Walt Disney Television Animation Walt Disney Television Animation is the animated television production division of The Walt Disney Company. It was formed in 1984. Tom Ruzicka, now at Universal Animation Studios, was one of the original executives in charge of this fledgeling group. .

Toon Disney, the 24-hour all-animation basic cable network, showcases Disney's vast library of animation from seven decades of magic with series and specials to shorts and movies, as well as a variety of acquired animated programs. Toon Disney is a division of ABC ABC
