BURBANK, Calif. -- Kids and families' strong connection to Disney's "Hannah Montana," the #1 basic cable television series for kids age 6-14, has catapulted its franchise offerings to the top of holiday season wish lists and Walt Disney Pictures will further meet the demand when tickets go on sale beginning December 1st for the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" Digital 3-D movie.

"Hannah Montana" fans everywhere will have a chance to see their favorite singer, songwriter and actress, Miley Cyrus, perform her sold-out concert on the big screen for one week only with a special Disney Digital 3D[TM] presentation coming from Walt Disney Pictures exclusively to movie theaters in the United States and Canada from February 1-7, 2008. The film will also open in several international markets, including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, German-speaking Europe, Latin America and other selected Asian and European territories in spring 2008.

Cyrus launched her "Best of Both Worlds" tour, featuring her as a solo artist and as her popular Disney Channel character, Hannah Montana, on October 18th. The filmed version of the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds" concert is being shot in state-of-the-art 3D at several venues during the 54-city tour. Miley will donate $1 from each ticket sold to The City of Hope, with a goal of raising more than $500,000.

Also, Walt Disney Pictures' "Hannah Montana" feature film starring Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus is scheduled to begin production in spring 2008.

Merchandise

Recently, Jim Silver, co-publisher of Toy Wishes, which put "Hannah Montana" on its holiday issue cover, told USA Today, "She's wholesome, she's cool. It was just a no-brainer." Silver estimates retailers will sell "hundreds of millions" of dollars in "Hannah" products this year, and also said that Montana is "almost like a female superhero." The "Hannah Montana" doll ranks No. 6 on the National Retail Federation's top toys for girls list and made her debut, at No. 10 on this year's top 10 most-searched-toys list from Lycos.

Several best-selling "Hannah Montana" items have been introduced this holiday season, including:

* An extensive apparel and accessories line;

* A very popular brand of electronics, including electric guitars, a pocket amplifier, headphones, and acoustic guitar, and an amplifier that doubles as an iPod docking station;

* Best-selling video games for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii platforms. The second "Hannah Montana" video game, "Hannah Montana: Music Jam for Nintendo DS," received the IGN E3 2007 "Best Music Game" award in the DS category and was a runner-up for "Best E3 Music Game." Shipping now, "Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour" for Nintendo Wii allows players to use the Wii controllers to dance to more than 15 of Hannah's songs;

* "Hannah Montana" fashion dolls, which are a top-selling doll at retail;

* And, various stationery products, including calendars, notebooks and posters.

Disney Consumer Products has also introduced a line of "Hannah Montana" books, seven of which have hit the USA Today best-seller list in the United States.
