Disney, CBS, Time Warner, and News Corp. Have Banded Together to Stomp Attacks On Their Profit Centers; Tranz-Send Broadcasting Network has a Turn-key Solution for the Problem!


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 1999--

On Thursday, Time Warner, Disney Co., News Corp., Discovery Communications and CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  announced that the Advanced Television Copyright Coalition (ATCC ATCC American Type Culture Collection, see there ) was formed to protect content owners and broadcasters from the makers of personal television services like TIVO See DVR.  and Replay.

Both of these companies make devices that allow consumers to record television and skip commercials. Tranz-Send Broadcasting Network, a San Francisco startup is preparing to launch the next phase of their movie-on-demand site -- ClickMovie.com solves these problems in advance with proprietary technology.

ClickMovie.com will allow millions of consumers to receive a 90 minute movie, 30 frames-per-second, on a NTSC (National TV Standards Committee) The committee that developed the television standards for the U.S, which are also used in Canada, Japan, South Korea and several Central and South American countries. ClickMovie.com will be launching with several pieces of content starting at the end of September. Among the initial offerings, will be two Suzanne Ciani concert videos, the indie films "1999" and "My Engagement Party"; as well as the quirky RKO RKO Radio Keith Orpheum (movie studio)

 film "Milk and Money". The films are just the beginning of ClickMovie.com's ramp-up to hit its goal: Every version of every film, in any language ever made to the consumer whenever they want it(TM).

Tranz-Send Broadcasting Network plans on launching a time-shifted TV enterprise in early 2000 with the help of the Studios and Networks, and can provide content to all time-shifted (TIVO/Replay) and set-top boxes. "We look forward to working with the ATCC to set up a mutually agreeable system. One in which the consumer can choose from a massive library of television shows and pay extra to skip commercials, or to have a lower price point and not have the fast forward functionality," said Gregg Schoenborn, VP Business Development, who recently joined Tranz-Send from Universal Pictures where he was VP Business Development.
