Discus Dental Acquires Leading Endodontic Manufacturer.

CULVER CITY, Calif. -- Discus Dental, Inc. today announced the completion of its acquisition of LightSpeed Technology, a leading manufacturer of endodontic instrumentation in San Antonio, Texas. LightSpeed will now be headquartered in Discus Dental's home offices in Culver City, California, and its full product line will be manufactured and distributed out of the Discus Dental operations center in Southern California.

For more than a decade, LightSpeed has provided clinicians with reliable, state-of-the-art endodontic instrumentation that enables complete bacterial removal in the critical apical third area of a root canal. The company holds significant intellectual property in the area of endodontic rotary instrumentation and obturation. The latest instrumentation system developed by LightSpeed significantly accelerates the speed at which clinicians can perform root canals while reducing the number of instruments required for the treatment. In addition, the new system offers greater predictability and improved safety.
