(Discovery) (Nasdaq: DSCO DSCO Deep Space Climate Observatory ) announced today results for the first quarter ended March 31, 1999. The Company reported a net loss of approximately $(2,018,000) million, or $(0.36) per share for the quarter ended March 31, 1999 as compared to a net loss of approximately $(2,208,000) or $(0.69) per share for the quarter ended March 31, 1998. Research and development expenses for the three -month period decreased to $1,419,000 from $1,709,000 for the same period last year. There were 5,613,000 and 3,183,000 weighted average common shares outstanding for the first quarters of 1999 and 1998, respectively.
