Discover Card earns publicity with college football fan contest. (Marketing News).


Armchair quarterbacks across the country for the second year in a row have an opportunity to win a guest appearance on the New Year's Days broadcast of the ESPN College GameDay thanks to the Discover Card Gets You on GameDay Challenge. One winner will receive a trip for two to the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) National Championship Game, where he or she will get to share the TV spotlight with GameDay's Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso as they debate their BCS picks.

The integrated marketing partnership reaches consumer across a spectrum of channels: point of sale, broadcast and print media and the Internet. Discover Card is supporting the promotion with advertising across ABC and ESPN television and radio college football programming, as well as ESPN, The Magazine. Best Buy shoppers will be alerted to the contest by in-store signage. Additionally, Discover Card will be alerting cardmembers to the promotion via inserts in billing statements and cardmember newsletters.
