The journey down the Road To Rimini takes place the second and last Thursday of the month and is the only source of Italo Disco in Newcastle.

Italo Disco, or "Dance Music Made In Italy" was born at the back end of the seventies when disco music was at the height of its popularity and draws inspiration from American disco and funk.

One of its major sources of musical influence is the electronic disco sound created by Giorgio Moroder, famed for the searing and atmospheric soundtrack on Al Pacino's film Scarface.

As well as work from Giorgio Moroder the nights are made up of an eclectic mix of sounds ranging from John Carpenter, Sparks, Kraftwerk, Koto koto (kō`tō), a Japanese string instrument related in structure to the zither. It consists of an elongated rectangular wooden body, strung lengthwise with 7 to 13 silk strings.  and Yellow Magic Orchestra as well as the Dutch electronix of I-f, Legowelt, Alden Tyrell, Viewlexx and Clone.

A night not to be missed.
