Disabled woman robbed twice in her Solihull home.


A DISABLED woman was robbed in her Solihull home for the second time in a year.

The distraught 58-yearold was confronted by an intruder in the kitchen of her bungalow on Bosworth Drive, Chelmsley Wood, on November 5. She suffered a similar incident on New Year's Day New Year's Day, among ancient peoples the first day of the year frequently corresponded to the vernal or autumnal equinox, or to the summer or winter solstice. A man, described as in his mid-twenties, walked up behind the victim and demanded she handed over her purse at around 7.20pm. The woman, who uses a wheelchair, was uninjured but very shaken by the ordeal.

Despite extensive enquiries by police after the first incident, no arrests were made.

Detective constable Helen Ainsworth from Solihull CID Cid or Cid Campeador (sĭd, Span. thēth kämpāäthōr`) [Span.,=lord conqueror], d. 1099, Spanish soldier and national hero, whose real name was Rodrigo (or Ruy) Díaz de Vivar.  said: "This is a very distressing case where a vulnerable woman has twice been robbed her own home this year.

"The similarities between both robberies are striking which leads us to believe it could be the same offender who has returned to target this woman again."
