During the National Championships, the DAV See WebDAV.  National Commander's Award, which symbolizes ability over disability in life's everyday occurrences, will be awarded to one of the amputee golfers participating in the tournament. The event has become one of the highlights of the tournament.

For nearly two decades the DAV Charitable Service Trust has provided support to the NAGA allowing the organization to provide this program, free of charge, to disabled veterans nationwide. The program stresses ability, not disability, and recognizes the need for an outdoor, recreational, leisure activity, which NAGA provides through the introduction of golf. Attending a clinic for the first time often instills a renewed re·new
