Disabled officer kills self after MLA ' harasses' her.


AN AGRICULTURE officer died on Sunday after setting herself ablaze in Mahbubnagar district Mahabubnagar District, is a district in Andhra Pradesh, India, with its headquarters at Mahabubnagar. . B. Rajeshwari ( 26), a disabled woman who was employed as an agriculture extension officer in Devarakadra block of the district, tried to commit suicide on Thursday.

She was moved to a hospital in Hyderabad with 60 per cent burns, where she succumbed on Sunday.

In her dying declaration, Rajeshwari told the police she had resorted to the extreme step as she was not in a position to bear the mental harassment. Sita, who is also state unit president of the TDP women's wing, however, denied harassing the officer.
