HOLIDAY INN CONVENTION AND WORLD TRADE CENTER: RE-OPENING OF RENOVATED HOLIDAY INN IN DOWNTOWN LONG BEACH

The Holiday Inn Convention and World Trade Center in downtown Long Beach announced the re-opening of the newly renovated hotel will take place in late March, 1994. The hotel is in the process of completing a $4-million-dollar renovation which began last summer. The announcement was made by Cindy Norman, President of CNN CNN

The hotel is decorated in resort-like decor and is reminiscent of the beach which brought the name to the city. The custom guestroom furnishings include granite top bathroom vanities, Italian tile bathroom flooring, two telephones per room with Dataport computer hook-ups, in-room coffee makers (with free coffee service for all guests) and new remote control color televisions featuring closed caption television, on-demand movie rentals, and in-room video checkout.

The meeting and banquet space has been increased from 3,000 square-feet to 9,000 square-feet, with the addition of the Atlantic Ballroom, which joins the already existing but newly renovated Pacific Ballroom. The hotel also has seven breakout rooms, and Executive Boardroom, and new banquet chairs, tables, linens and glassware. This new meeting space makes it possible to accommodate receptions up to 500 and banquets up to 350 people.
