Directives issued to ensure allowances of Ushr and Zakat to the needy people.

PESHAWAR, September 17, 2009 (Frontier Star): Chairperson of the standing committee on Zakat, Ushr, social Welfare Yasmin Zia Marwat has stressed upon the officers and officials of the concerned departments to enhance and accelerate their activities in order to provide the allowances of Ushr and Zakat to the needy and deserving people in time which could largely benefit the poor segment of our society. She said this while chairing a committee meeting held at the Conference Room of Assembly Chamber here on Thursday. The concerned MPAs and members of the standing committee, officers and officials of the Social Welfare, Ushr and Zakat Department were also present. The members of the committee discussed the distribution of ushr and zakat among the deserving persons in the province. The chairperson also stressed upon the officers and officials of ushr and zakat department to streamline the system of ushr and zakat as more effective for the betterment of the poor community. Earlier, Speaker Provincial Assembly Kiramatullah Khan also addressed the committee of ushr and zakat where he threw light on the distribution of ushr and zakat in the province.
