Direct Wireless Communications Incorporated is a licensee of Direct Wireless Corporation, which holds the patents to a proprietary wireless communications standard. This new standard allows for a communications network to be installed where there was little or no service before, at a cost that is eight times less than existing wireless systems using traditional cellular tower equipment. In addition this proprietary standard, named Time Shared Full Duplex (TFSD), is compatible with all major existing standards in existence today such as the CDMA protocol invented by Qualcomm, GSM, the major standard in Europe, TDMA used by AT&T Wireless, as well as the much heralded 3G network. The company plans to market its technology as a way for wireless carrier companies to increase their areas of service which in turn increases their market share while saving a significant amount of money on equipment costs. The company sees this as very beneficial to the domestic wireless industry, which has to deal with near exhausting of existing coverage capabilities, in terms of area, as well as high customer acquisition costs. The company looks forward to being viewed as a way for these problems to be effectively addressed and allow for these wireless carriers to exploit better economies of scale and higher profit margins.
