Restaurant will preview

Marche restaurant is taking reservations for a Wednesday preview of the dinner that chefs Stephanie Pearl Kimmel and Rocky Maselli will prepare July 16 at the James Beard House in New York City New York City: see New York, city.

There is one 6 p.m. seating for the $100-a-person preview, which includes live entertainment by the Marche staff. The price covers both the tip and the five wines that will be served.

The dinner in New York City will be part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Beard's birth. The famous chef grew up in Portland and became a noted food authority.

To that end, a producer and camera operator are scheduled to visit Eugene to shoot scenes at the restaurant and at local farms that supply Marche with ingredients.

Marche's Eugene and New York dinners will feature Oregon food products.

The dinners will start with a selection of four hors d'oeuvres, to be followed by a goat cheese timbale tim·bale
