Digium Announces Highest Analog Density Card in Open Source Telephony Market; Wildcard TDM2400P Combined with Digium's Patent Pending VoiceBus(TM) Technology Provides Highest Analog Density Available in a PCI Card.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Digium(R) Inc., the creator of Asterisk(R) and pioneer of open source telephony See Asterisk PBX and OpenMoko. , today launched the Digium Wildcard TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. The quad-FXO and quad-FXS modules are interchangeable allowing the combination of interfaces up to six slots for 4-port FXS or FXO modules. With this new card, small and medium businesses can benefit from features such as high density in fewer PCI slots and an industry standard 50-pin Amphenol connector for easy installation.

About Asterisk

Code for Asterisk, originally written by Mark Spencer of Digium Inc., has been contributed from open source software engineers around the world. It supports a wide range of TDM protocols for the handling and transmission of voice over traditional telephony interfaces. It also supports US and European standard signaling types used in standard business phone systems, allowing it to bridge between next-generation voice-data integrated networks and existing infrastructure. Using the IAX Voice over IP protocol, Asterisk merges voice and data traffic seamlessly across disparate networks. Asterisk is available as open source under the GPL See GNU General Public License.
