Digital imaging line laser sensor profiles cross-sections of tires.

An extremely high-resolution, two-dimensional digital imaging line laser sensor is available for profiling cross-sections of various rubber and tire products. The Ethernet-ready UDP UDP (uridine diphosphate): see uracil.

Key features are said to include on-the-spot 2D profile measurement of material and equipment variations, increased operator control for greater throughput, reduced waste and tighter production control for optimum uniformity and product quality.

In the tire industry, the primary use of the EyeCon Series 1000 line laser sensor is in the preparation side of a plant, such as tire tread extrusion width and profiling, tire build lateral and radial run out, edge control of sheet material and measurement of calendered cal·en·der

Applications range from width measurement over a roller to lateral and radial run out for uncured tires, tire build measurement inspection to finished wheel alignment, and measuring the volume of material on a conveyor belt. Use of two sensors allows profiling over the edge of the material.
