Phonak, Inc., introduces [Claro.sup.TM], a next-generation digital hearing aid A hearing aid that processes sound in digital form. Digital techniques have been used with hearing aids starting in the early 1990s when digitally programmable devices were the first to provide the equivalent of an audio equalizer in the ear, enabling only required frequencies to be  whose name is synonymous with synonymous with
adjective equivalent to, the same as, identical to, similar to, identified with, equal to, tantamount to, interchangeable with, one and the same as
 the Spanish word for "clear." The product of six years of intensive research and development at Phonak's R&D facilities in Switzerland, this new hearing computer cuts through room noise with technology never before available in a hearing instrument.

Claro features a first-of-its-kind Adaptive digital [AudioZoom.sup.TM] system that automatically activates in noisy environments to screen out extraneous ex·tra·ne·ous
