LLC - Logical Link Control
 has formed an alliance with Mitsubishi Securities Co., the investment banking arm of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, and WestRiver Capital, a private equity firm in Seattle.

Digital Coast, which is based in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries.  and has about 30 employees, received a combined $6 million from the two firms, which it plans to use for investments in the health care space and for geographic expansion.

"They both are minority/strategic investors in our firm to provide us with the working capital to grow the business," said Jamie Montgomery, co-chief executive of Digital Coast Partners.

Montgomery said Digital Coast is in the process of opening an office in the Seattle area and considering a San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  office in the coming months. "We expect to grow the investment side fairly aggressively," he said.

As part of the deal, Erik Anderson, manager of WestRiver Capital, will become a vice-chairman of Digital Coast with Jamie Montgomery. In addition, a full-time banker from Mitsubishi will join Digital Coast's Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  office in January.
