Digital Services Group Introduces HTS-100 Handheld ADSL Test Set Handheld Test Set -HTS- and ADSL Module for ADSL Testing.

Business Editors/Technology Writers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001

Digital Services Group (DSG) today announced the introduction of the HTS-100 Handheld Test Set (HTS) and ADSL See DSL.

ADSL - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
Module for ADSL testing. The HTS-100 and ADSL module is used for turn-up and trouble shooting of Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Lines.

The unit is designed to allow technicians fast, efficient installation and trouble-shooting of ADSL circuits. The HTS-100 is the only unit available that covers a range from Level 1 turn-up testing, including IP Ping, connection rate and noise margin for downstream and upstream, to Level 3 TCP/IP TCP/IP
in full Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

Standard Internet communications protocols that allow digital computers to communicate over long distances.
Frame Generation, TCP/IP Loopback and Frame Generation all in one economical, small, lightweight unit.

The ADSL module is standards compliant and supports full rate ADSL T1.413 I2 and G.992.1 (G.DMT See DSL. ) as well as G.992.2 (G.lite), therefore if you are supporting full rate ADSL or splitterless ADSL, the HTS-100, equipped with an ADSL module covers all your ADSL testing requirements.

Operation of the HTS-100 is very straightforward. One button emulation of the customer premises ADSL modem or ADSL transceiver unit remote (ATU-R See ATU. ) synchronizes with the DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexor) A central office (CO) device for ADSL service that intermixes voice traffic and DSL traffic onto a customer's DSL line. It also separates incoming phone and data signals and directs them onto the appropriate carrier's network. See DSL.  (ATU-C See ATU. ) and reports test results. If there is a suspected problem with the customer's modem, the HTS-100 can connect to the customer's computer and to the ADSL line performing golden modem test functions.
