MINNEAPOLIS & SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2001
Companies Combine Expertise to Help Clients
Make E-Commerce Site Improvements and Increase Revenues
Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ:DRIV), a leading global e-commerce outsource provider, and WebSideStory, Inc., the world's leading provider of outsourced e-business intelligence services, today announced a partnership designed to complement Digital River's existing e-commerce reporting services. Under the agreement, Digital River will offer WebSideStory's real-time e-business intelligence services to its network of more than 8,000 clients. The services will provide Digital River clients with real-time analysis on the behavior of visitors to their e-commerce sites.
Digital River will offer both WebSideStory's HitBox Enterprise, designed for sites with sophisticated needs, and HitBox Professional, designed for small and mid-sized businesses. With HitBox, Digital River's clients will be able to analyze detailed visitor behavior patterns and trends in real-time, including pinpointing where visitors come from, what paths they take through a site, and what editorial content and products they view. The HitBox service requires no additional hardware or software expense and does not drain IT resources. The information is available through any Internet connection.
"We are pleased to announce a best-of-breed technology partnership with WebSideStory," said Digital River's CEO, Joel Ronning. "WebSideStory's HitBox technology enhances the e-commerce reporting capabilities that are at the core of Digital River's commerce system. By using the combined technologies, our clients will have access to more information about visitor behavior patterns on their e-commerce sites -- information that will help them make site improvements and increase online revenues."
Digital River's online reporting tracks e-commerce metrics, including average order size, close ratio, product-level sales and e-marketing campaign results. With the HitBox services, Digital River's clients will gain a more in-depth understanding of how to streamline the purchase process, improve marketing campaigns, enhance visitor loyalty, and improve customer service.
"Building an effective and profitable e-commerce presence requires an in-depth understanding of customer behavior," said WebSideStory's CEO, John Hentrich. "With this partnership, Digital River offers their clients the most sophisticated analysis service and advanced data-centric approach to managing and growing their online businesses."
