) today announced that it has received initial orders valued in excess of $3.0 Million from Nortel (Northern Telecom) for deployment in the first phase of the B-Band cellular network.

The contracts, received in the second fiscal quarter, call for Digital Microwave Corporation to supply 15 GHz, 18 GHz, and 23 GHz SPECTRUM II radios. These are the first microwave radios selected for the B-Band cellular build-up in Brazil. SPECTRUM II radio shipments began in August and are expected to continue through the beginning of 1998.
