Digital Microwave Corp. Receives $11 Million Order from Panafon.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1996--Digital Microwave Corp. (NASDAQ:DMIC) today announced that it has signed a supply agreement valued at US$11 million with Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications Company SA in Athens, Greece for the supply of digital microwave radios and services.

The agreement covers a three year period, with anticipated purchase orders valued at US$3.5 million in the first year.

Panafon SA is a joint venture formed by Vodafone (U.K.), France Telecom Mobile International (France), Intracom (Greece) and Databank (Greece). Panafon's GSM network was inaugurated in 1993, and their system has expanded to cover over 95% of the Greek population.

Digital Microwave's radios will be used to expand Panafon's GSM network throughout the country. Shipment of the radios will begin next month.
