Digital Map Products Bolsters Executive Team, Appoints New CEO and New VP of Operations.

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Digital Map Products (DMP), a developer of high-performance Web-served mapping applications, today announced it has augmented its executive team with the addition of a new chief executive officer and a vice president of operations. Walt Stender, an industry veteran with over 15 years of international executive leadership experience, has joined DMP as CEO, and Steve Riggins joins the company as VP of operations, bringing over 15 years of operations and engineering experience.

Chartered with leading the company's next phase of growth in the government, builder and residential real estate markets, Stender will tap into his diverse management background to drive DMP's national strategy and extend the company's product focus to address the growing demands of the industry. Concurrently, Riggins will leverage his expertise in software development and project/program management to execute the aggressive product development strategy and scale the company's operations to meet projected growth.

The announcement of Stender and Riggins to the DMP executive team comes on the heels of the company's expansion of operations into Seattle and Phoenix. "DMP has pioneered a business of rapidly deploying map-based applications using the subscription service model," said Stender. "Steve and I have stepped into an incredible opportunity to accelerate the company's growth plans as well as create new services and products for our existing customers."

While building its executive team and expanding to a national focus, DMP's top priority is to maintain its high level of customer satisfaction and scale its current operations to meet the company's projected growth. DMP is developing initiatives designed to enhance their customer experience including comprehensive customer training programs and an enhanced Help Desk offering. Key areas of focus for product development are the highest level of application response time, data accuracy/currency and rapid delivery of new products. In addition, DMP is actively recruiting and expanding its employee base.

Prior to DMP, Stender held senior executive and management roles at some of the world's leading technology companies including Hughes Electronics, ITT Corp. and FEI, a nanotech company. Most recently, he served in CEO roles for a VoIP startup company and a consumer products company. Stender has extensive international experience with profit and loss responsibility for operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has managed acquisitions both internationally and domestically. Stender received his MBA from Pepperdine University, and his BSIE from West Virginia University.

Before joining DMP, Riggins held a variety of management positions in operations and engineering. Most recently, Riggins served as general manager for Composite Manufacturing Inc., vice president of manufacturing for Comm Con Connectors and was founder and chief operating officer for Interactive Digital Sports. Riggins also held senior management positions with ITT Cannon, where he devised and managed the restructure and consolidation of a $120 million international business. Riggins received his BSEE from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
