"Digital Lava is committed to expanding the access to streaming media to an ever increasing marketplace. By leveraging our core technology based upon industry standards with the experience of encoding thousands of hours of content through our Publishing Services group, we were able to develop an elegant and efficient solution," said Bob Greene This article is about the modern journalist and author. By utilizing FireStream Encoding Station, content creators and network providers can encode video and audio to multiple formats and bit rates both faster and at a far less expense compared to other alternatives. By making all the encoder instances available in one program and with a single unified user interface, FireStream Encoding Station significantly increases efficiency by eliminating the necessity to cycle through multiple encoding programs. Digital Lava estimates that FireStream Encoding Station clients will realize up to 40% savings in encoding and training time.

Greene explained that FireStream Encoding Station was originally conceived and developed for Digital Lava's internal services organization as a means to improve the efficiency, turnaround time (1) In batch processing, the time it takes to receive finished reports after submission of documents or files for processing. In an online environment, turnaround time is the same as response time.  and cost structure of the company's publishing process of rich media presentations.

"We will be marketing FireStream Encoding Station through both direct sales and value-added reseller A value-added reseller (VAR) is a company that adds some feature(s) to an existing product(s), then resells it (usually to end-users) as an integrated product or complete "turn-key" solution.  distribution channels," Greene said. "Our national sales force will be offering FireStream Encoding Station as a companion product to our proprietary publishing tool, vPublisher, and the VAR channel will bring us into new markets such as entertainment and news."

FireStream Encoding Station solves a large problem with current commercially available alternatives by synchronizing all encoded outputs. Additionally, unlike most encoder software solutions that require users to be present at the beginning and end of every encoded clip, FireStream Encoding Station's sophisticated encoder control software provides for unattended termination of all encoded streams thereby freeing users to attend to other tasks and saving overhead costs overhead costs

. FireStream Encoding Station's robust and easy-to-use software interface contains all that is needed to preview, organize and manage the encoding process.

FireStream Encoding Station will be made available to customers through a nationwide Value-Added Reseller (VAR) distribution channel. 3 Point Digital, a Burbank-based provider of workflow solutions encompassing content creation, storage and media management, and data distribution for the broadcast, entertainment and corporate communities, will build, test and support the FireStream Encoding Station as well as provide exclusive West Coast distribution. "We see FireStream Encoding Station as groundbreaking technology," said Rob Cloyd, Vice President of 3 Point Digital, "that offers people efficiencies for encoding that don't exist in any other product."

3 Point Digital will also be a Value-Added Reseller of Digital Lava's proprietary rich media publishing application, vPublisher.
