Digital Japan to Resell WRQ'S Reflection VT Host Access Software.

The agreement started in April between Digital Japan and WRQ's Tokyo-based master distributor, Cybernet Systems.

WRQ's VT software product, Reflection 2, provides reliable access to Digital and UNIX UNIX

Operating system for digital computers, developed by Ken Thompson of Bell Laboratories in 1969. It was initially designed for a single user (the name was a pun on the earlier operating system Multics).

Reflection 2 gives personal computer users precise terminal emulation Using software in a desktop machine to make it perform like a hardware terminal. The emulated terminal is typically in the VT100-500 family, designed originally by Digital Equipment.  of UNIX and Digital host systems. Its intuitive graphical Windows interface makes it easy to launch host sessions, transfer data, and integrate host data with desktop applications.

Other user-friendly features include a Best Network feature, whereby Reflection checks the network and automatically chooses the best network connection, and a built-in modem dialer that makes it easy for Reflection users to dial into their worldwide corporate network while away from the office.

Also included is Reflection Basic, WRQ's object-based scripting language A high-level programming, or command, language that is interpreted (translated on the fly) rather than compiled ahead of time. A scripting, or script, language may be a general-purpose programming language or it may be limited to specific functions used to augment the running of an , which provides complete client/server control of OLE-automated applications. Another tool, Reflection Profiler, helps network managers control which Reflection features they wish to make available to users.
