Digital Duo: Olympus Develops PhotoGenetics Deal; Camera Giant to Bundle Photo Enhancement Software with Digital Cameras.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 1999--

Q-Research, developer of PhotoGenetics digital image enhancement See image editing.  software, announced today that Olympus will distribute PhotoGenetics software through the Olympus retail outlets in Europe, including Russia, Eastern Europe Eastern Europe

In addition, Olympus will bundle a trial version of PhotoGenetics software with all its digital cameras sold in this region.

PhotoGenetics allows casual PC users and digital photographers to dramatically and easily improve the quality of their digital and scanned photographs with less than five minutes of training. Using only one interface element, called the evaluator, PhotoGenetics applies a dozen global image processing image processing

Through this agreement, Olympus has the exclusive right to package and distribute a "shrink wrap" version of PhotoGenetics throughout Olympus' European region.

PhotoGenetics is available for the Win95/98 and Macintosh operating systems (operating system) Macintosh Operating System - (Mac OS) Apple Computer, Inc.'s proprietary operating system for their Macintosh family of personal computers.

The part of the operating system that simulates the desktop is called "Finder.
