Digital Defense Announces Larry Hurtado as President and CEO.

SAN ANTONIO -- Digital Defense, Inc., a provider of network security compliance and risk management services, today announced the promotion of Larry Hurtado to President and CEO. Previously, Larry was President and COO.

Larry commented that he is excited about his new responsibilities. "We continue to see that our online security information management platform combined with our highly-skilled network security analyst team enables us to effectively respond to the diverse security compliance and risk management needs of our clients and business partners," stated Larry. Before joining Digital Defense in August 2002, Larry was Co-Founder and President of International Operations for Elastic Networks, Incorporated, holding several key leadership positions in support of the company's business growth objectives, three financial events-two private rounds of financing and an initial public offering, and the successful acquisition of the company by Paradyne Corporation in March 2002.

Prior to Elastic Networks, Larry held senior management positions at Nortel Networks. His last assignment was VP of Business Line Management in Nortel Networks' Access Networks Division. He has held international assignments in Hong Kong and Tokyo to lead organizations in the establishment or growth of their Asia Pacific businesses.

Larry holds a BSEE degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
