Digital Access Corporation Hosts USDA Health Eating Pyramid Websites.

CHANTILLY, Va. -- Digital Access Corporation (DAC), a division of American Systems Corporation, announced today its role in the launch of two new websites devoted to healthy eating. The sites were unveiled by the Secretary of Agriculture on April 19 and provide food intake calculations and recommendations based on the new Food Pyramid Guidelines. E[acute accent]DAC, a leading edge developer of custom software applications with a focus on Internet integration, began work on these websites as a result of a blanket purchasing agreement (BPA) awarded last year by the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) to provide e-government solutions. E[acute accent]DAC is currently hosting the FNS site (www.fns.usda.gov) as well as the new My Food Pyramid Website (www.MyPyramid.gov) and developed the third site, which is hosted by the government (www.MyPyramidTracker.gov). DAC has contracted with Akamai Corporation to substantially improve the accessibility and reliability of those sites as well as the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) site (www.cnpp.usda.gov), which are all expected to have high traffic over the coming months. MyPyramidTracker web application was created by the development team at Digital Access Corporation in close collaboration with the dietary and nutrition experts at CNPP.
