Digi International Adds Broadcom Wi-Fi(R) Driver to NET+Works(R) Software Suite; -Broadcom driver with WPA enables secure Wi-Fi for embedded devices-.

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Digi International (NASDAQ:DGII) today announced that it has added a driver for the Broadcom AirForce 802.11abg chipset to its NET+Works device networking tool kit. NET+Works is a complete development environment for network enabling embedded devices specifically optimized for the NetSilicon family of 32-bit NET+ARM microprocessors. The addition of WPA and a driver for the Broadcom AirForce chipset makes it easy for embedded designers to use industry standard Wi-Fi technology to securely IP-enable their devices.

Our customers can select the right hardware for their design - box, module or processor; Ethernet or Wi-Fi - with the confidence that they can deploy their solutions across a variety of products."

The NET+Works package runs across all Digi embedded platforms and includes the ThreadX real-time operating system (RTOS), device networking applications (webserver, Email, FTP, Telnet, SNMPv3, etc.), development tools (Green Hills MULTI or Microcross GNU), a target specific development board with BSP and a JTAG or software debugger in an easy-to-use, integrated solution. NET+Works 6.3 adds the PCI/Cardbus driver for Broadcom's AirForce One chipsets along with WPA's temporal key (TKIP) encryption and secure authentication (PEAP with MS-CHAPv2). The PCI/Cardbus interface is available on products based on NetSilicon's NS9750.
