Plus Series of powered USB connectivity solutions, including the Hubport/4c+, a new compact hub with four USB PlusPower ports and the Hubport/PCI+ LP family - three new low profile PCI cards with USB PlusPower ports. The USB Plus Series is the most extensive line of powered USB connectivity solutions available and is designed to simplify retail operations by allowing powered USB peripheral devices to be used with a standard, low-cost PC. The USB Plus Series saves space and simplifies system architecture by eliminating power supply bricks for USB devices.

"We now offer the broadest family of powered USB connectivity products in the industry," said Stephen Popovich, general manager and vice president of Inside Out Networks, a division of Digi International. "The new low profile PCI cards enable powered USB deployment in even smaller PC platforms to further reduce space requirements in retail applications. The Hubport/4c+ also minimizes the space necessary for providing powered USB via an external hub."

The USB Plus Series makes it easy to add powered USB ports to a standard, low-cost PC, transforming a basic, small footprint PC into a high-performance retail system. The USB Plus Series is the only powered USB connectivity solution that features power management capabilities. This enables technicians to monitor voltage and turn on and off individual powered USB ports, allowing end users to safely and easily disconnect and reconnect high-wattage devices like printers, bar code scanners and signature capture devices. Available in card and external hub solutions, each product offers four powered USB ports that are compatible with both standard and powered USB devices.
